OUTLINE (2019)

Set against the desolate Nordic landscape, OUTLINE (OMRISS) is a minimalist character study tracking the grief of Thea over the course of three rocky days. Only when she arrives at her mother’s country home does she realize the full emotional toll she’s in for. Alone and vulnerable, she takes stock of the place and tries to keep it together. But before long, she’s burrowing into self-destructive behaviour.

Press:

Bjerke’s film artfully utilises the desolate Nordic landscape as an expressive canvas on which her protagonist struggles to cope with the loss of her mother.” (Directors Notes)

“Punctuated with moments of rousing style, as when at a local bar, an older woman dances exuberantly by herself to a rock song, it’s an affecting portrait of inner turmoil, enriched by picturesque visuals, and a terrific performance by Inga Ibsdotter Lillaas.” (NoBudge)
